Be Artistic in August With Alpharetta Recreation And Parks

Creativity sizzles this summer with a series of August art programs and workshops offered by Alpharetta Recreation and Parks through the Alpharetta Arts Center at Crabapple:

Teen Summer Art Experience explores principles of design, drawing, painting, and mixed media. Hands-on demonstrations, class critiques, and portfolio work included. Monday-Friday, 10am-2:30pm daily. Week-long session for ages 13-17 held August 1-5

Create with Me lets little ones discover the fun of creating art together with parent participation. Seasonally-themed projects include mixed media, painting concepts, shape discovery, and ceramics. Tuesday, 9:45-10:45am. Four-week session for ages 2-5 starts August 9

Drawing for Homeschoolers uses patterning, shading, perspective and color to create unique works of art, explore art history, and learn to draw portraits, figures, landscapes, still-life, and a few cartoons. Friday, 12:00-1:15pm. Multi-week session for ages 6-10 starts August 12

Creative Playgrounds leads little artists to create a special piece of art each month. For ages 3-5, with parent participation, from 10:30-11:30am on Thursday, August 18

Art Experience is an arts-sampling workshop for adults, exploring various art mediums. This month’s focus is on printmaking. For adults 50+ on Saturday, August 13 from 10am-12pm, at Alpharetta Adult Activity Center
