Autumn Fun With Alpharetta Recreation And Parks

Fall is just around the corner, with plenty of family-friendly fun to be harvested in Alpharetta! Check out these upcoming community events:

Scarecrow Harvest – Saturday, September 30 – Free family merriment to celebrate the spirit of fall with 100+ locally created scarecrows on display!  Downtown from 10AM–2PM, enjoy a farmers market, music, hayrides, storytelling, face painting, inflatables, and food. Awards presented for classroom scarecrow designs. Information at 678-297-6049.

Stories, Songs, S’mores – Saturday, October 14 – Pack up blankets or lawn chairs and head to the park for a fun family evening! Gather around the campfire for old-fashioned storytelling and sing-alongs. Hot chocolate, coffee, s’mores, and a fun craft included. Festivities 5:30PM–7:30PM at Rock Mill Park, 3100 Kimball Bridge Road. Only $5 residents, $7.50 non-residents. Register by October 11 at Information at 678-297-6100.

Wire & Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival – October 6-7 – Music flows through the streets each evening as talented artists perform their original songs. Attendees will experience soulful melodies, expressive lyrics, and interaction with artists to learn about stories behind the music. Information at or 678-297-6078.

Restless in Resthaven – October 14-15 – Enjoy downtown walking tour and meet costumed characters from Alpharetta’s past as they stroll along Milton Avenue or in Resthaven Cemetery. Discover how the town grew from farming community to Technology City of the South. Live music with buck dancing, singing, flute-playing, and a violin pre-show by Miffy Grayson! Munchkin Masquerade – Saturday, October 28 – Fang-tastic time for ages 5-10 with games, fun activities, and pizza. Costumes can be worn! From 5:30–8:30PM at Wills Park Recreation Center, 11925 Wills Road. Only $5 residents, $7.50 non-residents. Register by October 25 at Information at 678-297-6130.
