Musical Celebration of Flag Day

Jun 11, 2017 03:00 PM - Jun 11, 2017 04:30 PM

The Alpharetta City Band, a traditional concert band under the baton of Dr. Nicole Fallon, will perform its annual Flag Day concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the Alpharetta Adult Activity Center, 13450 Cogburn Road, Alpharetta, Ga., 30004. The concert is free and open to the public.

Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the U.S. flag by the Continental Congress in 1777.

“The annual Flag Day concert has become one or the band’s most anticipated performances of the year,” said Don Nahser, the ensemble’s Program Supervisor. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to express our love of this great country through patriotic music.”

The Alpharetta City Band has become an integral part of the cultural arts community. Sponsored by the City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department, the ensemble of dedicated amateur musicians from Alpharetta and surrounding communities has entertained audiences throughout the north metro area for nearly 30 years. Audiences delight in the band’s diverse repertoire, which includes patriotic marches, Broadway classics, jazz standards, traditional concert band arrangements, and holiday favorites.
