Community Engagement

The North Point LCI Planning Project is intended to actively engage those who live, work, and play in Alpharetta to achieve a future vision for the district that reflects what those most likely to spend time there truly want.  Active participation by commercial property owners and business leaders is also crucial so that the resulting plan is economically viable and realistic.

Below you will find information on upcoming meetings, links to presentations and video from previous meetings, surveys you can take, and other ways that you can play an active role in planning the future of the North Point Activity Center.

Alpharetta City Hall

With the overall vision and plan for the North Point District in place, the City of Alpharetta is now beginning to design and implement specific projects that will help turn the vision into reality.  The first of these, the North Point Streetscape Enhancement Project, will provide context-sensitive solutions that will reduce lane width and the posted speed limit to safely accommodate vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Additional landscaping, hardscaping, green infrastructure, and upgrades to transit facilities will be done within the project limits.  Join us for an in-person meeting to review corridor information and provide feedback on this proposed project.

Following months of work by citizens and our consultants, the draft North Point LCI Plan finally will be considered for adoption by your City Council.  This hearing represents the final opportunity for the general public to share thoughts, questions, or concerns about the plan; an important component of what City Council takes into account when determining if the plan casts a vision and strategy for the future of the North Point District that is appropriate and positive for Alpharetta.

Planning Commission Hearing

The draft North Point LCI Plan that has been developed hand-in-hand with interested members of the public now moves into the formal process of public hearings.  The first step in that process is a hearing by the Alpharetta Planning Commission, an official body of the City that is comprised of citizen leaders appointed by the Mayor and City Council.  The hearing provides another opportunity for members of the general public to express their thoughts, concerns, or questions about the concepts and recommendations contained in the plan documents.
