March Into Art – Programs For Adults

Express your artistic side this spring with a series of art classes and workshops for adults, offered by Alpharetta Recreation and Parks:


Paint Parties!
One-day workshops with a local artist guiding step-by-step replication of featured painting. Coffee and light refreshments served

  • Brush and Bean (ages 18+) – Saturday March 18, 1-4pm at Wills Park Recreation Center, 11925 Wills Road
  •  
  • Coffee and Canvas (ages 50+) – Saturday March 11, 9:30am-12pm at Alpharetta Adult Activity Center, 13450 Cogburn Road


Painting
classes offer instruction in technique at all levels, using oil, acrylic or watercolor to create landscapes, abstracts, or paint from still life and photos. Multi-week sessions led by instructors start February 28/March 2 (Maureen Engle) and March 1/March 4 (Kip Rogers)


Drawing and Painting
uses basic drawing ideas of shading, perspective and composition to work towards painting. Thursday, 6:00-7:30pm with Kip Rogers. Six-week session starts March 2


Hand Building in Clay
explores hand-building techniques to create projects in clay. Tuesday, 6:30-9:00pm with instructor Rosita Czekala. Six-week session starts February 28


Wheel Thrown Pottery
teaches basic techniques for creating clay vessels on the wheel. Wednesday, 10:30am-1pm or 6:30-9pm with Rosita Czekala. Six-week session starts March 1

Art classes meet at Crabapple Government Center, 12624 Broadwell Road.
