Holiday Lighting Contest Promotes Neighborhood Safety

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is organizing a special holiday program designed to increase patrol and police presence in neighborhoods, as well as foster friendly competition. The Holiday Lighting Contest will involve police officers and firefighters driving through participating neighborhoods to select the best decorated home in each neighborhood. The program will take place Wednesday, Dec. 12 to Friday, Dec. 21. From the list of the best decorated homes in the neighborhood, three homes will be chosen as the best decorated homes in the city. A press release will be submitted to local media in early January announcing the winners, and notification will be released through the city's PACT (Police and Citizens Together) program.
