Press Release on March 13th @12:30pm

Alpharetta residents will get their first opportunity to view proposed architectural plans for the new Alpharetta Branch Library this Monday night, March 18.  Beginning at 6:00 PM library representatives will conduct a public open house at Alpharetta City Hall.  Following the open house they will make a formal presentation and take public comment during the Alpharetta City Council Meeting that begins at 7:30 PM.

The new 25,000 square foot library is to be constructed on a 3-acre parcel within Alpharetta’s City Center Development.  The planned facility is capable of holding a collection of over 100,000 materials including books, DVDs, CDs and audiobooks.

The branch will feature computers with high-speed Internet access; wireless access; a separate children’s area; an area for adult seating; a space for teens; a browsing area of new and popular materials; as well as a general collection; reference services; and self-checkout units.

During the open house citizens will have the opportunity to meet members of the architectural and engineering teams for the library project, as well as library team members.  They will be on hand to discuss architectural designs and answer questions about the library project.

Those who are unable to attend the March 18 sessions can still have their voices heard on the project by submitting questions or comments via email to librarycomments@fultoncountyga.gov   or by calling 404-335-5291.  Comments may also be mailed to Branch Services, Central Library, One Margret Mitchell Square, Atlanta, GA 30303
