2. Online Subcontractor Permitting
The City of Alpharetta now offers subcontractors the ability to pull simple permits online using Velocity Hall. Simple permits are permits that are associated with building permits. Permits such as water heater replacement, irrigation meters, sewer taps, HVAC replacements, alarm installation, or any work that does not have a building permit must come in the office to pull the permit.
To utilize this new feature you must first register online at www.velocityhall.com, simply following the directions found on the site. Once registration has been completed you will need to fax a letter on company letterhead, signed by the State Card holder, that he/she is authorizing the use of his/her state certification to purchase permits online. Please use the attached form letter for this. A copy of the State card, card holder's driver's license, and the company business license will also need to be included with the faxed letter. This information should be faxed to 678-297-6081.
After you have faxed the proper information you will receive an email stating that you have been authorized and may begin permitting online within 24 hours. Registration is a one-time process, after which you will be able to permit online, as well as check the status of permits and inspections, at your convenience.
3. The City of Alpharetta offers all applicants the option of requesting a Pre-Submittal Meeting to famiarize the applicant with The City's procedures and provide the applicant an opportunity to ask questions of our Plans Examiners. Appointments must be scheduled in advance and can be made by calling 678-297-6080.
