ALPHARETTA PUBLIC SAFETY

It is the Mission of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety to Enhance the Quality of Life of those that Live, Work, and Play in the City of Alpharetta.

We do things a little differently than your average emergency services department. Unlike most jurisdictions, our services are not separated into different departments; police, fire and 911 are all part of a single, streamlined team. This allows each service to work more closely, train more efficiently, and communicate together to provide the optimal service to those in Alpharetta. For the community we serve, that translates into low crime rates, faster responses to emergency calls, and the lowest possible ISO rating so homeowners enjoy lower insurance rates.

Let Us Know How You Think We Are Doing

Be part of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety’s national accreditation process by sharing how we’re doing!

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is nationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). CALEA, an independent credentialing body, annually reviews department policies, procedures and operations to determine if the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety meets the Commission’s innovative and forward-looking standards to maintain annual compliance with its national accreditation.

As part of this year’s assessment process –coming up July 7 to 15, 2023– CALEA has created an online comment portal (below) that allows our community members to share their thoughts, whether it's a concern or a compliment, about both the Alpharetta Police Department and 911 Center. Your comments can help provide our assessors with insight on how the Department complies with CALEA’s goal of supporting continuous improvement and fostering excellence.
