Alpharetta to Host a workshop on Sustainable Vegetable Gardening

Released March 19, 2018 02:18 PM

Join us as we learn smart, low-cost, environmentally sound practices for growing nutrient-dense vegetables. Sustainable gardening is creating an environment where desirable plants and insects coexist.  It involves: enriching and feeding the soil; fostering healthy plants; encouraging diversity; deterring harmful insects and diseases. This workshop will explain how to do this, while eliminating/minimizing chemical fertilizers and pesticides.  We will cover planning, seed starting, cultural practices, and soil/water management, along with additional tips.  This workshop is also appropriate for parents wishing to involve their children in the garden.

The North Fulton Master Gardeners will present this free class on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.  The class will be given at the Alpharetta City Hall located at 2 Park Plaza, Alpharetta, GA 30009.
