Arbor-Day2019

Alpharetta Hosting Arbor Day Planting Event March 16

Released February 22, 2019 04:04 PM

The Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission will host its annual Arbor Day Event on March 16th from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Cogburn Road Park, located at 12825 Cogburn Road.  Arbor Day is a day set aside to reflect on the importance of trees in our state and across our nation.

This year’s event will feature the planting of 30 trees, including large over story trees and native understory trees.  The diverse tree species will provide habitat for birds and other pollinators, as well as welcome shade to park visitors.  In addition to the tree planting, several educational activity booths for children will be featured.

Volunteers for the planting are asked to wear appropriate clothing, including closed toe shoes.  Sign-in will be at 10:00 am near the playground area.  Refreshments, tools, and gloves will be provided to volunteers.

In the event of significant rain, the planting will be rescheduled.
