GA400 Bike Ride

GA400 Southbound To Close Sunday In Roswell

Released June 28, 2019 03:47 PM
All southbound lanes of GA 400 between Holcomb Bridge Road and Northridge Road in Roswell will be closed Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM for the One Hundred Mile Hospitality Highway Ride, a bicycling event that will take over the highway for the 11th year.

While no closures will occur in Alpharetta, motorists are advised to expect a heavy presence of cyclists on many Alpharetta streets between 7:30 AM and 12:00 PM.  While on Alpharetta streets, cyclists will ride under the "rules of the road," which means that cars and bicyclists will share the roadway.  Motorists are reminded that cyclists may legally ride on public roadways up to two-abreast and drivers must, under Georgia law, give cyclists a minimum of 3-feet of clearance when passing them.

The main Alpharetta streets that will be impacted by this event include but are not limited to:
    *  Haynes Bridge Road
    *  North Point Parkway
    *  Westside Parkway
    *  State Route 9 / Main Street
    *  Old Milton Parkway
    *  Mid Broadwell Road
    *  Bethany Road
    *  Mayfield Road
    *  Freemanville Road
