TRAFFIC ALERT:
Windward Parkway between Union Hill Road and Compass Pointe Crossing beginning Friday, May 15. Vehicular travel will be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction. Heavy travel delays are expected. Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area.

REASON:
Construction of tunnel underneath Windward Parkway that is part of the northern extension of the Big Creek Greenway.
NARRATIVE:
Beginning May 15th, traffic patterns along Windward Parkway, between Union Hill Road/Market Place and Compass Pointe Crossing, will change to permit construction of the tunnel under Windward Parkway required as part of the extension of the Big Creek Greenway.
As our contractors install each half of the tunnel, they will close both lanes of traffic in one direction. The other side of the road will then be utilized to provide one lane of travel in each direction. On May 15th the two lanes on the south side of Windward Parkway (traveling from Union Hill Road/Market Place towards Compass Pointe Crossing) will be closed and the two lanes on the north side (traveling from Compass Pointe Crossing toward Union Hill Road/Market Place) will be utilized to provide one lane of travel in each direction. When the first half of the tunnel is completed the closure will shift to the lanes on the north side of Windward Parkway, and the lanes on the south side will be used to provide one lane of vehicular travel in each direction.
