Road Closure To Impact Bethany Road Evening Commute On September 11 & 12

Released September 10, 2019 09:17 AM

A portion of Bethany Road located just south of Mayfield Road will be closed from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM this Wednesday and Thursday as crews from Atlanta Gas Light relocate two high pressure gas lines.  The relocations require the closure so that crews can open cut the road and fabricate, trench, and install the gas main lines.

The City of Alpharetta typically restricts road closures to the hours of 9AM until 4PM to avoid impacting peak commute periods.

Residents living along Bethany Road south of Mayfield Road will be able to access their residences throughout the closure as normal. Those living north of Mayfield Road should access their homes by approaching from Providence Road or points north.

All other motorists are advised to avoid the section of Bethany Road located between Mid Broadwell and Mayfield Roads.  East / west commuters are advised to use Providence Road or Rucker Road to avoid the area.  Those commuting north/south are advised to use State Route 9, State Route 140, or Providence Road as your alternate route.

Questions or comments concerning these extended road closures should be directed to Bill Cupp of Atlanta Gas Light at
