Alpharetta To Host A Workshop On Planting Trees & Shrubs

Released October 22, 2019 10:38 AM

The City of Alpharetta and the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission, along with the UGA Cooperative Extension North Fulton Master Gardeners, will offer a workshop for homeowners on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  The class will be held at the Alpharetta City Hall, 2 Park Plaza, Alpharetta, Georgia 30009.

While many of us get energized to improve our yards and gardens in the spring, fall is the best time in Georgia to plant (and move) shrubs and trees; as well as, prepare soil for next year’s plantings.  Our clay soil is much easier to work with in the fall and most shrubs and trees will do better when they have the opportunity to get established over the winter.

This free class, conducted by Master Gardeners, will cover:

•        Planting Trees

•        Preparing Soil for Ornamentals

•        Selecting Shrubs for Desired Location

•        Planting (and Moving) Shrubs

•        Mulching

•        Watering

•        Fertilizing

Please register for this class on Eventbrite or by calling (678) 297-6213 by October 30, 2019.
