“Bring One For The Chipper” Celebrates 29 Years of Treecycling!

The Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission, City of Alpharetta, Keep Georgia Beautiful and partners invite you to recycle your old Christmas tree after the holidays during the 29th Annual “Bring One for the Chipper”. On Saturday, January 4th from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM Alpharetta residents can bring their trees to The Home Depot located at 5300 Windward Parkway for recycling.

Since inception, our network has recycled over 6 million Christmas trees, and that number continues to grow each year. Resulting mulch gets donated to playgrounds, government beautification projects, parks, and individual yards. In certain communities, trees are also transformed into fish habitats at local lakes. Trees from our metro locations will be chipped into mulch by the Davey Tree Expert Company. To request mulch, please fill out the Mulch Request Form. Ferry Morse Seed Company has provided garden seed that will be available in exchange for your tree, while supplies last.

This program is part of a statewide effort to reuse Christmas trees. Keep Georgia Beautiful and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs have joined with corporate sponsors: The Home Depot, 11 Alive and the Davey Tree Expert Company to sponsor this recycling program.

Our local sponsors are the Windward Parkway Home Depot, The Alpharetta Rotary Club and the Alpharetta Young Men’s Service League.
