The City of Alpharetta is an ideal setting in which to live and work. You’ll find a full slate of activities year-round for youths through senior citizens under the sponsorship of the City and through private organizations. Our citizens take an on-going interest in their community in a variety of ways, whether it be through neighborhood organizations, civic clubs, business associations or individual volunteer efforts.

    The City of Alpharetta provides residential curbside garbage, recycling and yard-waste collection services. The City, via a third-party contractor, services all residential units within the City. Currently, REPUBLIC is the City provider.

    Adult Activities

    The Alpharetta Adult Activity Center at North Park provides recreation programs to adults age 50 years and older. Activities include exercise, tennis, golf, ceramics, day trips, tai chi, senior yoga, stain glass and more!

    Taxes

    Taxes & Fees

    Ad valorem taxes, more commonly known as property taxes, are levied for the maintenance and operations of the City of Alpharetta. These services include public safety, roadway maintenance, building inspections and other services vital to making Alpharetta a safe, secure and livable city for our residents, businesses and visitors. 

     

    Property taxes are levied for certain public improvements funded by voter-approved, general-obligation debt (bonds). All real estate and personal property is taxable unless exempted by law.

    The Disability Information & Assistance Line will provide people with physical or mental disabilities information about jobs, disability rights, housing and more.
