In celebration of National Humanities Month, in conjunction with gallery exhibit, The Art of the Picture Book, and partnering with the Alpharetta Arts Center, Arts Alpharetta is sponsoring a drawing workshop led by Michael J. White (www.michaelwhitestudio.com ) on SUNDAY, October 13 in two sessions.
The Awesome Art of Character Design. Participants age 10 – adult can sign up to take one or both sessions.
Morning session (9:30 am – 12 pm) “The Fantastic Art of Concept and Character Development.”
Afternoon session (1:00 – 4:00 pm) “Making Your Concept and Character Art Go to Work.”
Instruction will be unique in each session, so participants can choose both or one to attend. Michael offers the opportunity for parent and child to attend together to develop passion for drawing and cartooning. Each session is $45 per person, and all materials will be provided.

Bio: Michael James White started drawing at age 2 and never stopped. Since his graduation from the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, Michael has created board games, interactive DVDs, album and CD covers, magazine covers, editorial illustrations, children's books, coloring books, billboards, posters, T-shirt designs, logos, vehicle wraps, bubble gum cards, and launched a lot of concepts and characters into action. After teaching at the Ringling College of Art for many years, Michael now enjoys freelancing and drawing caricatures. He only has one rule “If it's not fun, I'm not doing it.”
