2021 Parks Bond Proposed Projects

Communities are alive; constantly evolving with changing opportunities, needs, and, yes, challenges.  To ensure that Alpharetta remains a successful, vibrant place where residents thrive and enjoy an amazing quality of life, the City is always looking to the future and considering a variety of projects to improve recreational opportunities while preserving green spaces and natural lands.

During the November 2021 General Election, you will have the opportunity to decide if the City should issue general obligation bonds in the principal amount of $29.5 million to carryout a variety of parks enhancements and projects.  The descriptions of those projects and the bond funds to be dedicated to each, as defined by your City Council, are outlined in this section of our website and can be viewed by clicking on the tile links or map below.

The specific question that will appear on the ballot is as follows:

“Shall General Obligation Bonds in the principal amount of $29,500,000.00 be issued by the City of Alpharetta, Georgia for the purpose of providing funds to pay, or to be applied or contributed toward, the cost of providing for (1) $7,500,000.00 for the additional development of the Alpha Loop; (2) $2,000,000.00 for the Farmhouse Park design and build-out; (3) $500,000.00 for the Mid-Broadwell Park build-out; (4) $3,000,000.00 for the Old Rucker Park design and build-out; (5) $1,000,000.00 for the Turf Webb Bridge large soccer field; (6) $3,250,000.00 for the Union Hill Park re-development/trailhead; (7) $1,250,000.00 for the Waters Road Park design and build-out; (8) $5,000,000.00 for the Wills Park Equestrian renovation build-out; (9) $6,000,000.00 for the Wills Park master plan projects; and (10) paying the costs and expenses incident to the issuance of the bonds?”

We encourage all eligible Alpharetta residents to become registered voters, learn about the proposed projects, and cast your vote to decide this issue.  For information on becoming a registered voter and the local issues to be decided during the November 2021 General Election, please visit the Voting And Elections page of this website.
