Entertainment And Diversions For Your Weekend

Released April 20, 2023 07:02 PM
Whether you are a morning person or a night owl, there is so much happening in Alpharetta this weekend that you are sure to find diversions that are right for you.  Here is just a sample.

If your tastes lean towards the theatrical, come to The Grove at Wills Park on Friday night for ACT1 Theater’s 7:30 PM performance of Midsummer Night’s Dream.  The Grove is the perfect setting for this free performance of Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, as it is set in an enchanted forest with fairies, sparring lovers and a group of amateur actors who are putting on a play...  Get more information at https://act1theater.org/ so you know how to get the most out of this performance.

You say you are more of a music lover?  Then spend your Friday night with the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra and their presentation of Organic Fanfare featuring Saint-Saëns Symphony No. 3.  The performance begins at 8:00 PM at Alpharetta Methodist Church.  Get tickets and more information at https://www.alpharettasymphony.org/events-1/organic-fanfare

Wake up Saturday morning and head to Downtown Alpharetta for the weekly farmers market.  The freshest veggies, most aromatic herbs, and vibrant flowers are just the tip of the iceberg (lettuce) to be found at this open air market that is one of our community’s most popular events.  The market runs from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM, and you can learn more at https://alpharettafarmersmarket.com/

If you are looking to spruce up your landscape or add some flare around your home, swing over to the Mansell House at Wills Park on Saturday for the Alpharetta Garden Club’s annual plant sale.  The event runs from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM, and you can learn more at http://thealpharettagardenclub.org/special-events/

Saturday evening brings the first of this year’s free concerts in Brooke Street Park curated by our friends at Home By Dark.  Bring a blanket / lawn chairs, picnic, and friends for a night of stories, songs, and inspiration you’ll never forget.  Michael Logen and Emily Earle take the stage at 7:30 PM.  Learn more at https://www.homebydark.com/brookestreetpark

Or, if your missed Friday’s performance by ACT1 Theater, pop over to The Grove at Wills Park for another opportunity to catch Midsummer Night’s Dream.  Saturday’s performance begins at 7:30 PM.
