South Main Livable Centers Initiative (LCI)
SM-Creative-Plan-Link-Tile

With the success of the Downtown Alpharetta Master Plan, the downtown area has attracted a variety of people and flourished over the past few years. To continue this momentum, a South Main Street Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Supplemental Study will help strategize how to transition South Main Street into a mixed-use area with redevelopment potential. The city has partnered with the Kimley-Horn team, which includes TSW and KB Advisory Group. While engaging with the public and stakeholders, the study will identify the community vision, view the existing plan assessment, and develop an economic and development strategy, transportation strategy, and placemaking strategy.

The goals of this study are:

- Develop a vision for the area to encourage reinvestment within South Main Street

- Develop transportation investments that provide safe movement of pedestrians, bicycles, and transit in, through, and around South Main Street

- Develop opportunities for creative placemaking along South Main Street

- Develop a framework of policies and programs to help accomplish the vision

- Develop guidance for development type, scale, and character in the study area

- Identify key redevelopment sites and strategies to activate
