Welcome to the City of Alpharetta!  We are delighted that you have chosen to make Alpharetta your home.  

The City's sanitation services are mandatory for all residential properties within Alpharetta City limits. Weekly sanitation (household garbage), recycling, yard waste and bulky waste services are provided to all residents through a contract with Republic Services, Inc. All garbage should be placed at the curbside for pickup no later than 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

To request new sanitation services, residents are required to provide the following documents:

  • Proof of Identity – valid government-issued ID
  • Home Ownership – 1st page of closing statement or deed
  • Tenant/Renter Agreement (if applicable) – 1st page of the lease, which includes owner/tenant information and signature page of lease, which includes signatures of both parties on the lease
  • Property Management Agreement (if applicable) – management agreement, which includes owner information and dates of contract and signatures of both parties on the agreement.

Note: The City of Alpharetta bills quarterly in advance for sanitation services. As such, an advance payment is required to establish sanitation services. This payment will be applied towards your first bill. A Financial Services Representative will email you on the service start date to collect payment and answer any questions you may have regarding the services.  

In consideration for receiving sanitation services from the City of Alpharetta, GA, at the above location, I hereby acknowledge responsibility for payment of service billing.

Payment by the indicated due date is required to prevent interruption of service. Unpaid balances will be turned over to a collection agency which may permanently and adversely affect your credit.

If your bill is delinquent, the City has a lien by operation of law and may record a lien against the property to secure payment of the sanitation bill.

Failure to receive a bill does not excuse the responsibility to pay:

New residents will be allowed 30 days to exchange their cart size. After such time, if a resident requests a cart exchange for any reason other than a damaged cart, there will be a $100 cart exchange fee charged to the resident.
