  • Progress Update- September 2021

    Current activity includes utility relocation, grading, sidewalk installation, curb and gutter installation, pedestrian light poles and light fixture installation, conduit installation for traffic signal interconnect and lighting, traffic signal installation at the intersection of North Point Parkway and Kimball Bridge Road, permanent signage installation, fine grading and permanent grassing. Asphalt surface course has been completed from Waters Road to bridge over Big Creek. The driveway apron installation has been completed at Collingwood Apartments.

    Upcoming work includes to finish the Greenway tie ins and the final  asphalt surface course installation from roundabout to project limits on the west side of North Point Parkway. The medians and islands will have topsoil and mulch installed.

  • Progress Update- August 2021

    Roundabout completed and operational on August 4th.  Milling and resurfacing of Sheridan Ridge Court completed on August 18th. Asphalt surface course complete from roundabout splitter island on North Point Parkway approach to bridge over Big Creek.  Asphalt surface course complete at Rock Mill Park connection to roundabout.  Asphalt surface course complete at New Prospect Elementary approach to roundabout.  Sundance Academy driveway apron and asphalt tie in complete.

    Upcoming work includes the completion of asphalt surface course and completion of the Greenway tie in to Sterling Brooke Subdivision.

  • Progress Update- July 2021

    We are working diligently to get  the roundabout operational by mid-August, the project to be substantially complete by November, and the landscaping target completion by Spring 2022.

    Current activity includes the signal installation at the intersection of North Point Parkway and Kimball Bridge Road, median installation, road widening at North Point Parkway, handrail installation at the Greenway on the west side of the bridge, and asphalt paving. Ongoing activities include utility relocations, storm drain installation, grading, sidewalk installation, curb and gutter installation, pedestrian light poles and pedestrian light fixture installation, conduit installation for traffic signal interconnect and lighting.

    Recent activity includes the roundabout truck apron, including the concrete pavers and the splitter islands; completion of construction of the wall at the New Prospect Elementary School corner of the roundabout and the stone veneer installation; the stone veneer installation was completed on the east side of Kimball Bridge Road just south of North Point Parkway and the stone veneer wall between Fire Station 85 and Saehan Church.

    Upcoming work includes the completion of the median, the Greenway tie in to Sterling Brooke Subdivision, and the Greenway tie in at the wall of the west side of the bridge.

    Recently, Wall 1 installation on the east side of Kimball Bridge Road just south of North Point Parkway was completed, Wall 9 installation complete at greenway tie in on west side of bridge, Guardrail installation is complete. The traffic shift to roundabout configuration is complete at Kimball Bridge Road and Rock Mill Road intersection.

    Currently, utility relocations, storm drain installation, grading, sidewalk installation, curb and gutter installation is ongoing, pedestrian light poles and pedestrian light fixture installation, conduit installation for traffic signal interconnect and lighting continues, signal installation at the intersection of North Point Parkway and Kimball Bridge Road is ongoing, splitter island installation, median installation, road widening at North Point Parkway, stone veneer installation on wall 7 parapet between Fire Station #86 and Saehan Church, and asphalt paving is ongoing.

    Upcoming work includes, the completion of wall 7 parapet stone veneer between Fire Station #86 and Saehan Church, the completion of wall 1 stone veneer on east side of Kimball Bridge Road just south of North Point Parkway, completion of stone veneer on wall 4 at New Prospect Elementary School corner of roundabout. Complete installation of splitter islands at roundabout, complete median installation, complete roundabout truck apron. Complete Greenway tie in to Sterling Brooke Subdivision, and the completion of the Greenway tie in at wall 9 on the west side of the bridge. 
  • Progress Update - April 2021

    Recently, the stone veneer on wall 8, near the intersection of Waters Road, and construction of retaining wall 6, adjacent to Fire Station 86, has been completed. The 54" water main installation from Rock Mill Road to North Point Parkway has also been completed. 

    Currently, utility relocations, storm drainage installation, conduit for traffic signal interconnect and lighting are ongoing.  Light poles and light fixtures are being installed. The construction of  wall 7, between Fire Station 86 and Saehan Church, is ongoing. And, asphalt leveling at the roundabout and throughout Kimball Bridge Road continue. 

    Upcoming work will include the completion of the Greenway tie in to Sterling Brooke Subdivision. The completion of construction on retaining wall 9, at Greenway tie in on the west side of the bridge.

  • Progress Update- March 2021

    Recently, the installation of stone and brick veneer on retaining wall 3, on the east side of the Rock Mill Park entrance, is complete. The driveway installation at Fire Station 86 has been completed.  The tie in to the Greenway at Fire Station 86 is complete, except for the handrail installation. Construction of retaining wall 4, at the southwest corner of the roundabout  is complete, except the stone veneer installation. The panels on the retaining wall 7 have been installed, between Fire Station 86 and Saehan Church. 

    Currently, utility relocations, storm drainage installation, grading, curb and gutter installation and sidewalk installation are ongoing. The conduit for the traffic signal interconnect system and lighting are being installed. Light poles are being installed. Construction of the road widening is ongoing on the north side of Kimball Bridge Road from Rock Mill Park to North Point Parkway and at the corners of the roundabout. The construction of  wall 7, between Fire Station 86 and Saehan Church, is ongoing. 

    Upcoming work will include the completion of stone veneer on wall 8, near the intersection of Waters Road. The completion of the Greenway tie in to Sterling Brooke Subdivision. The completion of construction on retaining wall 9, at Greenway tie in on the west side of the bridge. Storm drainage installation should be completed, along with the road widening on the North side of Kimball Bridge Road from Rock Mill Park to North Point Parkway.

    The installation of the 54” water main from the west side of North Point Parkway to GA 400 is complete. Curb and gutter installation and sidewalk installation between Waters Road and Big Creek are ongoing.  The installation of brick veneer on wall 6, in front of Fire Station 86 is complete.  The stone veneer installation on wall 5, between Fire Station 86 and Big Creek, has started and is ongoing.  Construction of wall 8, near the intersection of Waters Road, is complete; except for the stone veneer. Construction of retaining walls 2 and 3, on both sides of the Rock Mill Park entrance, are complete; except for the veneer.  The construction of wall 9, between Big Creek and Rock Mill Road, has started and is ongoing.  Road widening construction on the North side of Kimball Bridge Road from  Rock Mill Park to North Point Parkway has started and is ongoing. 

    Storm drainage installation and grading is ongoing.

    The installation of the 54” water main from Big Creek to North Point Parkway is complete.  The installation of the 54” water main from the west side of North Point Parkway to GA 400 is ongoing.  Curb and gutter installation and sidewalk installation between Waters Road and Big Creek are ongoing.  The construction of wall 5, between Fire Station 86 and Big Creek, is complete.  The installation of the brick veneer on wall 6, in front of Fire Station 86, has started and is ongoing.  Construction of wall, near the intersection of Waters Road, is ongoing.  

    Storm drainage installation and grading is ongoing.  Georgia Power, AT&T and Atlanta Gas Light utility re-locations are ongoing.

    The installation of the 54” waterline from Big Creek heading towards Rock Mill Road is ongoing and is anticipated to be complete at the end of September.  Curb and gutter installation between Waters Road and Rock Mill Road is ongoing.  Construction of wall 5, between Fire Station 86 and Big Creek, is ongoing.  Construction of wall 8, near the intersection of Kimball Bridge and Waters Road, has begun. Storm drainage installation and grading is ongoing.  Georgia Power, AT&T and Atlanta Gas Light utility re-locations are ongoing.

  • Progress Update - August 2020

     The 54” waterline installation under North Point Parkway is complete.  The installation of the 54” waterline from Big Creek heading towards Rock Mill Road has started and is ongoing.  Construction of wall #6 in front of Fire Station 86 is complete, except for the brick facing.  Curb and gutter installation between Waters Road and Rock Mill Road is ongoing.  Construction of wall 5 has started and is ongoing. Storm drainage installation and grading is ongoing.  Georgia Power, AT&T and Atlanta Gas Light utility re-locations are ongoing.

  • Waterline Installation almost complete - July 2020

    Storm drainage installation and grading is ongoing.  Georgia Power, Atlanta Gas Light and AT&T utility re-locations are ongoing.  The jack and bore (Jack and bore is a method of horizontal boring sewer construction. Construction crews drill a hole underground horizontally between two points without disturbing the surface between sending and receiving pits.) under North Point Parkway is complete, the 54” waterline installation under North Point Parkway is ongoing and is anticipated to be completed on 7/17/20.  Construction of Wall #6 in front of Fire Station #86 is ongoing.  The stone base for road widening from Waters Road to Saehan Church is installed.  Curb and gutter installation from Waters Road to Saehan Church is ongoing.

  • Waterline Preparation - June 2020

    In order to install the 54” waterline they will have to jack and bore under North Point Parkway, this work is anticipated to begin the week of June 15th.  Wall  #6 in front of Fire Station #86 is under construction. The 12” waterline installation at the intersection of Kimball Bridge Road and Rock Mill Road has started and is ongoing. The storm drainage installation and grading is on- going on this project. Georgia Power, Atlanta Gas Light and AT&T have begun utility relocations; this will be ongoing throughout the project. Heavy traffic delays due to construction should continue to be expected.

  • Utility Re-locations Begin- May 2020

    The storm drainage installation and grading is on- going on this project. Georgia Power, Atlanta Gas Light and AT&T have begun utility relocations; this will be ongoing throughout the project. Fulton County is beginning the preparation work to install the 12” waterline on Monday, May 11th. In order to install the 54” waterline they will have to jack and bore under North Point Parkway, this work is anticipated to begin the week of May 18th. Heavy traffic delays due to construction should continue to be expected.

  • Progress is underway- April 2020

    Things are moving along on this project. Erosion control installation and tree clearing is complete. The storm drainage installation and grading has started and is ongoing. Fulton County Waterline installation is anticipated to begin during the week of April 14th. Heavy traffic delays due to construction should be expected.

  • Tree Clearing - March 2, 2020

    Construction on Kimball Bridge Road began on February 3rd!

    The first stages of construction include installing erosion control measures, tree save fencing, and clearing of the right-of-way. Currently, they are working on clearing trees and installing the erosion control devices. It is expected that storm drainage would be the next stage of the project, which should begin at the end of the month. Heavy traffic delays due to construction should be expected.

  • Construction Begins - February 3, 2020

    Construction on the Kimball Bridge Road will start on February 3rd!

    The first stages of construction beginning on February 3rd will include installing erosion control measures, tree save fencing, and clearing of the right-of-way. As part of the intergovernmental agreement with Fulton County and the City of Alpharetta, Fulton County will be installing a new 54" waterline starting at the Big Creek bridge crossing through the North Point Parkway intersection, as part of this project. Heavy traffic delays due to construction should be expected.
