The City is required by the NPDES Permit Program to inspect its stormwater infrastructure.  Each year the City conducts inspections on about 20% of the publically owned and maintained structures and pipes so that all structures are inspected once every five years.  The City is divided into five zones and each zone is completed in one year.  Publically owned stormwater management facilities (ponds, bioretention, pervious pavement, etc.) are inspected annually. During inspections the City is looking at structural integrity, debris accumulation, and map accuracy.  When inspections are completed, all deficiencies are noted and maintenance work orders are entered into the City’s asset management program.
