Public Outreach & Education

In addition to inspecting and maintaining the public infrastructure and monitoring the stream water quality, the City also provides outreach and educational opportunities for our residents and businesses.  This portion of the program is administered by the Environmental Education Coordinator in the Public Works Department.

Alpharetta has participated in the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Green Communities Program since 2009.  As a certified community, Alpharetta has made a commitment to protect the environment and promote sustainability through a variety of smart governmental practices, programs provided to our residents and business owners, and incentives for developers.
