City Launches Photo Contest to Award a Fun and Playful Honor to a Local Resident
The City of Alpharetta Recreation, Parks & Cultural Services Department has launched an online photo contest, the prize being the opportunity to be the first to jump, slide or splash into the new Wills Park Pool on Saturday, May 26 during the pool’s grand opening.
Applicants enter the contest by taking a photo, using the photo frame near the pool, and then posting it on the Recreation, Parks & Cultural Services photo contest Facebook page. The photo frame is located in the driveway next to the pool at 1825 Old Milton Parkway. Photos can be submitted until the contest closes on May 18 at 2pm EST. This photo contest is open to residents of the cities of Alpharetta and Milton. Official contest rules are posted on the photo contest Facebook page.
The winner will be the first person to splash into the Wills Park Pool, either by jumping off the diving board, zipping down the slide or jumping from the side of the pool. In addition to being the first to enter the new pool, the winner will also receive a 2018 family pool pass, a $200 value.
“I am most excited about the water slide and the zero-depth entry,” said Christine Young, Manager of the Recreation Services Division, “These two features, along with this playful photo contest, provide fun for all ages in our community, and that’s what a pool is about – Fun!”
The Wills Park Pool grand opening will take place on May 26 from 10am-5pm and will include music, games and prizes, as well as swimming. The cost for the grand opening celebration is $5 per person, and free to season pass holders.
The Wills Park Pool renovation involved the pool facilities, which had not been updated since constructed in 1987, and now includes a leisure pool with zero-depth entry, interactive play stations, and water slide; a10-lane competition pool with two diving boards. Other new features include updated locker rooms, shade pavilion, added deck space, and lifeguard training room.
