WHAT: Old Rucker Park Design Community Input Sessions
WHERE/WHEN: Old Rucker Park (900 Rucker Road):
Tuesday, May 18; 4-7p.m.
Saturday, May 22; 8a.m. – 11a.m.
The City of Alpharetta invites residents to attend a community input session to review the proposed design concepts for the future Old Rucker Park site. Recreation, Parks & Cultural Services representatives and city officials will be available for discussion and feedback during the drop-in hours listed above. These input sessions will provide a chance for residents to take an interactive tour of the future park space and offer input on potential park features throughout. Both sessions are open to the public but interested attendees only need to attend one to submit their feedback.
Draft park design plans will be on display for attendees to review. “Community feedback and input is vital to the park planning process and we value the opinions of our residents,” said Dan Merkel, City of Alpharetta Council Member and liaison to the Recreation, Parks & Cultural Services Department. All participants are encouraged to bring a smartphone with them to participate in the interactive tour. An online survey will also be made available from the city’s website for those that either do not have a smartphone or would like to provide feedback from home.
Old Rucker Park will add 9.93 acres to Alpharetta’s current 832 acres of maintained park land and will get the city closer to its goal of having a park within a 10-minute walk for all residents.
