Storm Debris / Tree Removal

Reporting Trees / Limbs Blocking Roads

To report a downed tree or other debris blocking a public roadway:

   Online:   www.alpharetta.ga.us/seeclickfix

   Or Call:  (678) 297-6300

The road will be cleared and the tree or debris placed in the adjacent public right-of-way for future removal.  Please note that removal may not occur until a few days after the winter weather event concludes.

Trees / Debris On Private Property

Removal of trees and storm debris from personal property is the responsibility of the private property owner.

Tree limbs and other yard debris no greater than 6 inches in diameter and 3 feet in length can be tied into bundles and placed at curbside along with your household trash and recycling for collection on your normal trash service day.  A maximum of 10 bundles can be collected from any single residence per service day, and any debris exceeding the size limits or not properly bundled will not be collected.  Please note that following storm events that result in significant amounts of such minor debris throughout the community, more than a single week may pass before all collection is completed.

Special Permitting Procedures

Emergency and Storm Damaged tree removals will be handled on a case-by-case basis. These removals constitute a tree that is in imminent danger of falling or after a severe storm that has caused trees to topple or break. For information on this emergency process, please visit our Emergency/Storm Tree Removal page

For removal of downed trees or other large debris, property owners should contact a private contractor.
