City of Alpharetta to Host North Point Parkway Streetscape Enhancements Informal Public Involvement Open House

Public to Provide Input on Improving Safety and Operations
The City of Alpharetta is seeking public comment on the proposed improvements for the North Point Parkway Streetscape Enhancement project from Mansell Road to Haynes Bridge Road.  An in-person informal Public Information Open House (PIOH) will be held on July 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall, 2 Park Plaza, Alpharetta, GA 30009.  A virtual PIOH will be available online beginning on July 18th.  The site, https://0017814-northpointpkwy-gdot.hub.arcgis.com , will also be accessible from the City of Alpharetta’s webpage and will accept public comments on the project through August 2, 2022.

"As with our other corridor improvement projects, the success of the North Point Parkway project will hinge on the participation of the citizens and others who live, work, and own property in that area," said Eric Graves, the City Engineer leading the project.  "They will know better than anyone what changes will positively impact their quality of life, and we want that input."

Proposed improvements to the corridor will:
• Reduce impervious pavement
• Add 12-foot shared-use paths for walkability and connectivity
• Replace and upgrade traffic signals
• Improve traffic operations and safety
• Provide low impact/green infrastructure for stormwater management
• Preserve mature landscaping in the medians
• Provide additional hardscape and landscape features along the corridor
• Create more opportunities for utility relocations
• Minimize right-of-way impacts and costs
• Provide a more cost-effective solution
• Encourage redevelopment along the corridor
The online project site includes the project displays, handouts and materials that will be shared at the in-person PIOH.

To view the printed displays, please Contact Eric Graves, City of Alpharetta, 2 Park Plaza, ground floor or email egraves@alpharetta.ga.us.  Project displays will be available weekdays, from July 18th to August 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  City of Alpharetta representatives will not be available with these displays; however, you may submit questions regarding the project using any of the comment options available below.
