Tree Care

The City of Alpharetta believes that a healthy tree canopy is an important part of a healthy community and vibrant quality of life. Trees enhance the surrounding environment, can help in reducing noise, improving air quality, and provide shade to cool outdoor areas and help property owners save on energy costs. Beyond that, trees beautify the community, help intercept and mitigate stormwater, and are just cool.

The City has a team of arborists on our staff that help manage the urban forest system, plan new tree plantings in parks and other municipal properties, and monitor and maintain the health of trees in our rights-of-way, parks, and other public places.

But, a large part of Alpharetta’s tree canopy is comprised of trees located on private properties like yours, so it literally takes a village to preserve and promote our community’s urban forest and ensure that your children and future generations can enjoy a tree-rich community. This section of our website is focused on providing residents with information and resources to help in selecting, caring for, and maintaining trees as part of a beautiful landscape and healthy environment.
