A Magical Start To The Holiday Season Begins In Alpharetta

Released November 07, 2023 03:18 PM

The City of Alpharetta is thrilled to announce its much-anticipated Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, marking the official beginning of the holiday season. Residents and visitors alike are invited to join an unforgettable evening on Saturday, November 18, from 5 - 9 p.m. in the heart of Downtown Alpharetta.

The highlight of the evening will be the illumination of the magnificent 50-foot Christmas tree, a generous donation from Evans General Contractors, set to sparkle at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their ideal viewing spots and join the countdown to the magical moment when Town Green glows with thousands of twinkling lights.

The tree lighting is just the beginning of the holiday festivities. Enjoy the sounds of the season with live music, experience the wonder of snow flurries, be transported to the enchanting world of the Nutcracker with mesmerizing scenes by the talented dancers from the Metropolitan Ballet Theatre, and join in on festive sing-alongs. The guest of honor himself, Santa Claus, will make a special appearance alongside his merry companions to hear your holiday wishes.

The City of Alpharetta is committed to giving back and continues its tradition of hosting a Holiday Food Drive benefiting North Fulton Community Charities from November 18 to December 18. Attendees are invited to bring non-perishable food items for the food pantry in exchange for a jingle bell bracelet for Santa sing-alongs.

"The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is one of Alpharetta’s most cherished traditions, and it brings me great joy to see our community come together to create lasting memories and share the spirit of peace, hope, and love that is at the heart of the holiday season," said Mayor Jim Gilvin.

Alpharetta's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is free and open to the public. Parking is available in decks at 2 Park Plaza and 92 Milton Ave.
